June 20, 2020, was supposed to be the big day; Ash and Lex’s wedding. Like many couples. Ash and Lex had to postpone their wedding because of COVID-19. Instead of sharing their first dance and having a taco bar for dinner at Millbrook Marsh, their wedding celebrations will happen in 2021.
Although today isn’t the special day they had planned, I would like to highlight this day with my favorite photos from their engagement session from October 2019.
Funny story about the pumpkins; Ash and Lex carved them for the Penn State Arboretum competition. So naturally, I had to use them to help me photograph these gorgeous rings.
Speaking of rings, do you see this one here with the diamond? Ash made that ring for Lex. That’s right, Ash crafted the engagement ring! Listen, I was very excited when they told me this. That’s the coolest, sweetest, and possibly the most romantic thing that I’ve ever heard. Plus, Ash already had the diamond. I remember when Lex mentioned how much that meant to her because it was a no-conflict diamond.
They also brought their dog to the session, which is always so much fun. I love including fur babies in sessions. Anyway, this is Mackenzie, also known as Slizzard. She is adorable, and I am so happy I met her. This dog is so cool that she can fist bump Ash.
I am always a fan of a dip. I love it when my couples do it because there is always some giggling involved. It’s a pose that guarantees a smile every time.
Check out some of the other amazing moments during their engagement session.
Ash & Lex, I know today was supposed to be an extraordinary day for you two, so I hope looking back on your session shows you that the time and place are irrelevant. No matter what challenges life throws at you, at the end of the day, you both have your love. I can’t wait until next year! Woo!
